YouTube Shopping Spree
Think about all the products, gadgets, services, tools or whatever else that could possibly be for sale in the YouTube videos you watch. The items that come to mind, useful or not, could soon be for sale online on YouTube itself.
YouTube has begun asking creators to use YouTube software to tag and track products in their videos, like you would a friend in an Instagram picture. Viewers will have the option to click on and buy these products directly from their marketplace.
Being the world’s largest video site comes with its perks as YouTube is even testing a new integration with Shopify Inc. to make these sales possible.
This new monetization strategy has the potential to disrupt the ecommerce industry and take it by storm. Not only will YouTube be at the center of online culture and viral sensations, it will also be able to use this leverage to help sell different products across the world. Thatโs not something the likes of Amazon or Alibaba can claim to have.
