Booking It – 2023 is the year to fly abroad ✈️

According to a report by CNBC, travel abroad is expected to surge in 2023 as Americans look to take trips to Asia and Europe. The report cites data from the travel booking platform Expedia, which shows that searches for international travel from the United States increased by 200% in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. The report also cites data from travel insurance company Allianz, which shows that the number of Americans purchasing travel insurance for international trips increased by 50% in 2022 compared to 2021. The report attributes the expected surge in travel abroad to a combination of factors, including the rollout of vaccines for COVID-19, the easing of travel restrictions, and pent-up demand for travel after a year of lockdowns and quarantines. Many Americans are also reportedly eager to take advantage of low airfares and hotel rates that have been available due to the pandemic.

The most popular destinations for American travelers in 2023 are expected to be Europe, particularly countries in the Mediterranean region, such as Italy and Spain, and Asia, particularly Southeast Asia, such as Thailand and Vietnam. The report also notes that there has been a significant increase in searches for Caribbean and Central American destinations and domestic destinations within the United States. Overall, the report suggests that the travel industry is poised for a rebound in 2023 as more and more Americans look to take advantage of the opportunity to travel abroad again. However, it notes that the pandemic is not yet over (especially in different countries abroad) and that travelers should continue to follow health and safety guidelines to protect themselves and others. What do you think about the expected rise in travel abroad? And do you have any travel plans?
