Poll: Which Will Be the First FAAG To Be Broken Up?
- 38% Facebook
- 20% Apple
- 27% Amazon
- 15% Google
This week’s poll we asked invstrs: “Which Will Be the First FAAG To Be Broken Up?”
For some time now, there has been increasing calls from different politicians and political parties to break up the grouping.
Say goodbye to GE, IBM and Coca-Cola, The FAAG stocks have become the new, classic blue-chip stocks. Everyone and their grandmother own at least a small piece.
Some of the criticisms involving the FAAG stocks include the side effects of having so much influence in the hands of few and many issues with privacy, antitrust and tax avoidance. When new products and services are created, new problems arise and sometimes they are simply not properly addressed. On the other hand, does that mean politicians or anyone for that matter have the right to interfere with a fair marketplace?
Facebook was the big winner clocking in 38% of the votes. With all the rumors and accusations of Mark Zuckerberg’s unethical practices, it comes as no surprise that his company tops the bill, while Google, with its influence on knowledge (let’s google that!) comes last.
