Vaccine Doughnut
For my American readers, when you hear the word Krispy Kreme you probably think of a soft, warm doughnut with a hot coffee on the side. Krispy Kreme is an iconic American doughnut company and coffeehouse chain, and usually, if customers want a free Krispy Kreme doughnut, they’ll have to wait till National Doughnut Day. Now, Krispy Kreme says it’s giving away free doughnuts every day this year to customers who have been vaccinated.
Customers with a valid COVID-19 vaccination card can enjoy a free Original Glazed doughnut at participating Krispy Kreme locations in the US — sorry to my non-American readers. Customers who have had at least one of the two Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, are eligible for the free snack.
It’s also not a one-time deal. Vaccinated customers can return to Krispy Kreme every day until the end of 2021 and continue to receive free doughnuts. And to encourage staff wellness, the firm is offering up to four hours of paid time off to get the vaccine — Krispy Kreme is on a mission to get Americans vaccinated.
The doughnut shop isn’t the first company to offer incentives to get vaccinated. Tyson, Target, Trader Joe’s, and McDonald’s are offering similar incentives like paid time off for workers to get their vaccines.
It makes sense that companies are trying to get people vaccinated as soon as possible. The faster the nation puts COVID-19 behind it, the faster customers will return to their favorite stores and restaurants.
