5. Markets and Data

What asset classes are covered?

invstr covers currencies, interest rates, government bonds, stocks, energy and commodities.

What markets are covered?

Presently we offer live market data across the following markets: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, UK, USA and Switzerland. Other covered markets have delayed data. News and commentary is global.

We have an on-going programme to increase market coverage and will announce these as and when they are released.

How up to date is the Market data?

Much of the market data can be displayed in snap real time, although display will also be dependent on your own device's update settings. Otherwise, depending on exchange venue policies, data will be delayed.

What is the source of invstr's data?

Market data is sourced via Interactive Data Corporation (IDC). Through IDC, we have partnered with recognised investment exchanges, index providers and OTC contributors to supply live data wherever possible. We have also partnered with Dow Jones, Financial Times, Alliance News, Noodls, Edison and others for news, commentary, research and events data. Visit our invstr.com to view our partners. More information can be found on www.invstr.com/app/source.html

In most cases there are 5 years of market data history.

The market prices displayed are usually "Last Sale" and therefore indicate matched bid and ask offers.

Can professional investors access exchange market data via invstr?

The app is designed for an individual's personal use but prescribes to each exchanges' definition of 'professional' and 'non-professional' use. As such, any end-user fees mandated by exchanges will be applied. In every instance you will be notified of such requirements prior to activating live data.

How can I find out what they mean?

Explanations about the multitude of acronyms and jargon used in the financial world can be found in our glossary on invstr.com.

They denote the venue or exchange on which the instrument is quoted. A full list of these can be viewed here.

Please contact us at info@invstr.com

Is there a data query help desk telephone or email address?

Go to Markets Watchlist and tap on the "search" icon. This will display a search box enabling you to enter a (truncated) name or symbol.

How do I know which instrument symbol to use?

This is always a challenge as it depends on a number of elements. For instance you may be looking for the stock, option or maybe a corporate bond, and one of many exchanges or venues on which it is traded. We have helped you by filtering search results by 'most popular' and categorising them by asset class. Furthermore, we have indicated if they are active on our service, or not.

Can I request that additional instruments/assets be covered by invstr?

Of course. We are constantly endeavouring to expand our global market coverage. If you have any suggestions in terms of markets and asset classes to cover, please contact us by sending an email to info@invstr.com or go to: Me then General settings and select "Report a problem" within the invstr app.

What is the difference between the Reading List and Saved for Later options?

Both options enable you to save an article or research report to view later. Opting for "Saved for Later" stores these on your own device, which means you are not dependent on any network or Wi-Fi connectivity to view them. Please note this will use up local memory. Alternatively, any articles or research reports added to your "Reading List" are stored on the invstr cloud, which means you will require network/wifi connectivity to view them.

How many instruments can I add to my watchlist?

You can track up to 50 instruments on your personal watchlist.

Can I import an existing watchlist?

Not yet. However, we will be introducing this functionality very soon.

The 'My Activity' newsfeed shows your activity in the app and is viewable by yourself and your contacts. To access 'My Activity' newsfeed go to "Me", "My Profile", "View Private Profile" then swipe left once.

Is market data fee liable?

Is news fee liable?

At present, all newswires are free to view.

Are research reports fee liable?

That depends on the individual research publisher. Some research houses and banks publish reports free of charge; others charge a fee. Whenever you elect to view a report by tapping on the headline, the system will notify you if it is a chargeable item. You can then decide to purchase the report or reject it.

Do I need to sign an agreement to access live content?
