Poll: The Rise and Fall 💸

This week, we asked the Invstr Community who they think will be the next billionaire to drop out of the top 5, just following Gautam Adani. The winner, with over a third of the votes, was the 36 percent of Invstrs who believe that Elon Musk will be the first to fall. After recently losing his number one spot to Bernard Arnault, several believe that the majority of his wealth, stock in Tesla, may be the subject of more losses if shareholders believe the stock is overpriced. Furthermore, Elon Musk’s controversial opinions coupled with his risky acquisition of Twitter have created several positive and negative headlines that may have decreased what he thrives on: his public brand image. In second place, we have the 20 percent of Invstrs who believe that the current number one, Bernard Arnault, will depart from the top 5. Bernard Arnault, the overseer of the LVMH empire, manages more than 70 luxury and cosmetic brands. With higher inflation and falling consumer demand in America, there is a high chance Bernard Arnault may lose some valuations in his wealth in the coming year.

In third place, exactly 18 percent of investors decided Jeff Bezos will be the next to drop from this echelon of multibillionaires. Bezos, founder and ex-CEO of Amazon, was the highest on this list to be surpassed by Adani, after losing several billion in net worth due to Amazon’s recent shortcomings. With weak guidance going into this year, there is a chance that Bezos, being Amazon’s biggest single shareholder, may see some large losses that will knock him off this list. Right in front of last place, we have the 14% of Invstrs who believe Larry Ellison won’t stand long as the number four wealthiest person in the world. Ellison is chairman and co-founder of the software titan Oracle, which now specializes in cloud computing. The possibility of Ellison leaving the circle is not one bit low, seeing as Oracle has lost market share in the database sector every year since 2013. To close out the podium, we have the 12% of Invstrs who believe Warren Buffett may not be in the top 5 list as time passes. Buffett is known for being the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway being taught by the “father of value investing”, Ben Graham. Over the past several decades, Buffett amassed a fortune through his deemed smart and rational investments, however, several have criticized his detest of new technologies, specifically cryptocurrencies. As tech stocks continue to surge, it is possible that Buffett may be unable to capitalize on these returns, leaving him in the dust and promptly exiting the top 5 richest people in the world.

Who do you want to see enter the top 5 richest people in the world? Have fun, and see you next time with more poll results!
