Ozempic’s Disruption – The New Drug That Might Do It All

Throughout the 21st century, a new wave of health and diet overtook developed nations across the world, leading to new crazes like the Paleo diet, “HIIT” workouts, and even gluten-free emphases. Since then, hundreds of pills, treatments, and methodologies have been advertised as the “best” or “quickest” way to lose weight. Despite the volume of such mediums, most – if not all – have been deemed “fool’s gold”; except now, the newest contender has some validity in the scientific and medical community to add to its credentials.

Ozempic is an injectable medication that is normally used to treat diabetes, but now has taken over thousands of lives as an accelerant towards weight loss. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2017, Ozempic has now taken over social media, podcasts, and influencers as the one drug to cure it all, leaving it in short supply throughout 2023. How Ozempic works to encourage weight loss relies upon its imitation of a hormone named glucagon-like peptide-1, which signals hunger to the brain. By quenching appetites faster, it has successfully created calorie deficits, which naturally allow the human body to burn more energy than what is consumed.

Now, why is Ozempic important to the diet community? Well, as a proven medication that has helped tens of thousands of people across the world, Ozempic has a significant chance to disrupt the $76 billion diet industry. Fueled on results and word of mouth, the diet industry now has a worthy competitor that can now only prove results, but do so in a manner that requires less effort than what the diet industry has to offer.
