Oracle closes the deal and Nvidia’s $40 billion acquisition.
Oracle
China’s ByteDance wasn’t seduced by what Microsoft had to offer and was rejected without explanation in its attempt to acquire TikTok’s U.S. operations. Instead, the Wall Street Journal reported that Oracle has been chosen as the winner in bidding for TikTok’s U.S operations.
Before the deal can be finalized, it must be approved by the White House and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. This means that as of right now nothing is final. Stay Tuned.
Nvidia
Softbank Group Corp is back again with its latest series of asset sales involving British chip designer Arm Holdings. Softbank Group Corp is nearing a deal to sell the company to Nvidia for more than $40 billion.
Arms designs microprocessors that power most of the world’s smartphones. The combination of both Nvidia and Arms will be a behemoth in the semiconductor and chip industry. If this deal gets closed, it will be one of the largest transactions of the year and possibly the largest semiconductor deal ever. With Nvidia being the best performing stock in the S&P 500 in 2020, is there still more potential for growth in the company’s market value?
