Market Recap – June 6th

Tech sector losses weighed on the stock market, resulting in a decline for major indexes. After initially showing gains, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.6%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite ended the day with decreases of 0.2% and 0.1%, respectively.

Looking at specific investments, we’re watching Moderna and Virgin Galactic. Moderna are getting sued by Promosome LLC,  along with Pfizer and BioNTech. They are accusing their COVID-19 vaccines of infringing a patent related to messenger RNA technology. Virgin Galactic stock rose yesterday by 5% and outperforms the market.
