Market Recap – April 3rd
On Monday’s trading day, markets whipsawed to start the new month, with investors bracing for the next earnings season weeks ahead. Ahead of national holidays, investors begin to retrace highs seen at the start of February. The S&P 500 rose 0.37%, the NASDAQ Composite went down 0.27%, and the Dow Jones climbed 0.98%. Alongside strides in the broad indices, shares of popular retailer Macy’s soared 7.49% after an upgraded position by JPMorgan. On the energy front, oil and gas production company Ovinitiv saw its shares soar 11.92% after its reports of acquiring assets from Midland Basin.
