Market Recap – March 3rd
On Friday’s trading day, investors ended the first week of March with gains, increasing positive sentiment as Federal Reserve members continue to speculate on the robustness of the labor market. With no blatantly negative news, all three indices bounced, with S&P 500 climbing by 1.61%, the NASDAQ Composite going up 1.97%, and the Dow Jones rising by 1.17%.
Alongside the strides in the broad markets, shares of Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta grew by 6.14% following bullish sentiment over the potential of their innovative AI. However, not all companies strived throughout the day, as popular wholesale retailer Costco saw its shares slip 2.15% after missing revenue estimates in their fiscal second-quarter earnings report.
