Livestream Shopping Spree
In 2019, retail e-commerce sales topped $3.53 trillion worldwide, according to Statista. As people have started using brick-and-mortar shows as a showroom for the items they will go home and buy online, the average person’s shopping habits have changed dramatically over the past few years.
For Walmart, this is just the beginning. TikTok announced that it will be partnering up with Walmart to introduce an all-new shoppable livestream event. On Friday, TikTok will host the one-hour long event where users can shop for Walmart fashion items featured by TikTok creators without leaving the app.
This is the first time TikTok will host something like this in the United States and what better company and brand to kick things off with than Walmart. According to Walmart’s Chief Marketing Officer William White, “it (the event) gives us a new way to engage with users and reach potential new customers, while bringing our own brand of fun – with the help of fashion loving TikTok creators – to the platform.”
Will you be attending the event? If not, users will still have the change to shop for the items featured in the event once it’s over by visiting Walmart’s TikTok page.
