Airplanes are an essential component of modern-day travel and a feat of engineering. Even though the concept of flying barely phases us anymore, it’s important to remember that even a few decades ago, flying was worlds apart from where it is today. One principal component of the modern-day flying experience is the airport terminal. As the location where planes take off and land, it’s the spot where travelers spend anywhere from minutes to hours waiting for a departure to their location. Today, some airports have terminals with luxury lounges for frequent flyers and other features. Some even have built-in malls, massage parlors, and more.
Today, we’re discussing an interesting new investment going into many airports. The investment isn’t new, in fact, it’s part of the Biden administrations infrastructure bill from last year. Indeed, 85 airports across the US will receive a piece of this $1 billion investment that will expand and upgrade terminals as well as some other facilities. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said that the projects will help meet future demand for travel and make flying safer and more efficient.
What do you think about the upgrade to some airports and will you be traveling more because of it?
