Make no mistake, we are living in a time of great technological innovation. Kerim spoke about this at length in a recent interview with Efinancialcareers, where he discussed how aspects of the trade such as money transferring and mergers and acquisitions are being changed forever through new apps and services which cut out traditional banks
These developments point to a revolution in personal finance, whereby access to financial services and information is opening up to the public in a way never seen before.
We can see this disruption through app based Mobile-banking apps like Monzo which was born out of a frustration with traditional banks and has ease of use as it’s top priority, responding to the need for banking to catch up with other sectors that have already taken advantage of great leaps forward in technological innovation. Other examples include Tide – a new mobile-first banking app from Passion Capital partner Eileen Burbidge which is specifically designed for small businesses. This again was designed to keep up to speed with the needs of small business owners who feel conventional banks are failing to meet their requirements due to slow sign-up processes, hidden charges and the like.
