Market Recap – June 14th
On Wednesday’s trading day, markets recovered losses experienced during Powell’s comments, remaining fairly flat for the day. Although investors anticipated a pause, they did not expect the relatively hawkish comments about the commitment towards disinflation. For the broad indices, the S&P 500 rose 0.08%, the NASDAQ Composite went up 0.39%, and the Dow Jones fell by 0.68%.
Popular computer peripheral manufacturer Logitech experienced heavy losses for the day, with its shares declining by 11.10% following a leadership change and analyst downgrades. Another company to experience losses was movie and theater chain Cinemark, falling 6.31% at the bell over uncertainty about future film revenues causing downgrades from B. Riley.
