Cross the tโ€™s, Dot the iโ€™s

Let’s get ready to rumble! This week will be the busiest week of earnings in all of October.

More than one 30% of the S&P 500 indexโ€™s components are set to report their third-quarter results.

The big list of companies reporting earnings this week include Facebook, Google parent Alphabet Inc., Amazon and Apple. Itโ€™s worth noting that these four companies alone represent over 16 percent of the S&P 500โ€™s market value.

As for Forward Guidance, most of the names that are set to be released this week are expected to forecast increased earnings per share for the moment. In times like these, it can be important to keep track of not only where a company is today, but also where it is going to be in the short, medium and long term.

On a bigger note, invstrs can expect to receive the first reading of third-quarter Gross Domestic Product or GDP data by Thursday. On an annualized basis, these numbers are expected to show a rise in economic activity of 31.8%.

Regardless of the data that comes out this week, it’s important to keep in mind that people have been affected by this pandemic in very different ways. There are success stories and failures in every situation, but as Kelly Clarkson puts it โ€œwhat doesn’t kill you make you strongerโ€.
