Poll:  Cord Cutters 📺

Table of Contents

This week, we asked the Invstr Community what their opinion is on companies in the streaming industry. The winner, by a solid margin, was the 44 percent of Invstrs who believe that Netflix is the king of all streaming platforms. Netflix is the name brand everybody knows about, and they were the first streaming success story. Netflix has controlled the market for the last decade, but increased competition is posing a threat to its dynasty. Their latest earnings report inspired investors, and it isn’t far-fetched that they can maintain their stronghold which makes this a reasonable decision. You would expect the margin of victory to be a lot slimmer, though. In second place is the 25 percent of Invstrs who believe Amazon will emerge victorious in the streaming battle. Amazon Prime Video is slowly but steadily catching onto other streaming services with hits including but not limited to “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” Along with that, we know Amazon’s power to dominate any industry they want, so who says streaming isn’t one of them? Many will argue that 2nd place should have gone to Disney Plus instead, but these two are interchangeable making this a controversial second place finish.

To close out the podium, we have none other than the 21 percent of Invstrs who believe that Disney Plus is the true king of streaming. Ever since Disney opened their streaming service, it has been taking people by storm as the platform offers access to all of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and other content that are exclusive to the company. Investors do have some worries about Disney’s lack of content for adult audiences, but this has been one of the most resilient services in the past year. Like we said, this could be a second-place finisher, but a bronze medal isn’t too bad. In 4th place is the 10 percent of Invstrs who are going with the underdog HBO Max. HBO Max is one of the main players in the industry due to the vast reserves of Warner Bros., and they have some successful original shows like Succession. With many players in the game, HBO has fallen behind a bit, and this fits 4th place the best

Which streaming service do you use the most? Have fun and see you next time with more poll results!
