The ChatGPT Effect โ Meta and Snapchat Move to Integrate AI
With search engine leaders like Google and Microsoft scrambling away to implement text automation software in their web browsers, familiar names have joined the fray to integrate this new form of AI in a different way. Meta and Snapchat have recently announced their new bid to integrate OpenAIโs ChatGPT akin software to their social media platforms. Following the public API software behind several of these new AI projects, companies have been able to take advantage of OpenAIโs technology and leverage it into their own systems. Meta, which owns both Facebook and WhatsApp, recently developed a group to promulgate this transition into additional creative and efficient tools that enhance their products and their customerโs experience. Several other companies have taken part in this expansion, such as Snapchat, which has already released its own automated chatbot, My AI, to premium users.
These AI-focused overhauls, however, havenโt gone without scrutiny. Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has received backlash throughout the past year over his commitment to these capital-depleting initiatives. During times when every cost and sale counts, several shareholders do prefer a reliance to standard and stronger revenue streams, seeing innovative projects as risk-tolerant and costly. Despite these claims, Zuckerberg has continued on reinforcing Metaโs idea-driven vision, hoping their new breakthroughs and recent positive earnings quarter can increase their shareholder sentiment.
