Earnings Reports (09/26/2022 – 09/30/2022)

Earnings Preview:

Markets finished off lower following last week’s Fed interest rate hike, entering lows last seen in June earlier this year.

Some important earnings highlights and lowlights included General Mills and FedEx, where the former rose after consumer spending on food remained high and the latter fell considerably amid demand issues.

The Fed’s third consecutive rate hike of 75 basis points seemed to lower investor sentiment, causing fears over a potential recession.

Overall, the stock market will be testing yearly lows this upcoming week after the Fed confirmed suspicions of an aggressive bid to curb inflation in the United States. Hawkish notions by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell have caused fear that the targeted federal fund rate of 4.6% may trigger a recession.

Here are the companies from this week’s expected earnings:

  • Blackberry – 09/27 (#bb)
  • Vail Resorts – 09/28 (#mtn)
  • Bed Bath and Beyond – 09/29 (#bedbath)
  • Micron Technology – 09/29 (#mu)
  • Nike – 09/29 (#nike)
  • Carnival – 09/30 (#carnvl)
