Earnings Preview:

Markets have swung up and down this week with the indices staying mostly unchanged from last week.

Some earnings highlights included Uber and PayPal, who both reported very positive results that bode well for the future.

Stocks did not like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, which flared up tensions with China. Markets have also been processing the Manchin-Schumer deal, which is meant to reduce inflation and boost climate initiatives.

Overall, U.S. stocks have stayed flat as investors haven’t received enough info to decide where they believe the markets will go from here. Going forward, investors should monitor economic data and more earnings from big companies.

Here are the companies from this week’s expected earnings:

  • Palantir Technologies – 08/08 (#pltr)
  • BioNTech SE ADR – 08/08 (#bntx)
  • Tyson Foods – 08/08 (#tyson)
  • Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings – 08/09 (#nclh)
  • Spirit Airlines – 08/09 (#save)
