The AI Marketplace
Still, at the top of headlines, artificial intelligence remains at the forefront of not only tech but the economy. Hopes for lower costs, rapid autonomy, and ingenious consumer tech have fueled the basis for the global hype surrounding AI. One particular sector, video games, has had a recent AI revelation to potentially change the scope of the industry for the next several years. Software company Unity just announced their invention of a marketplace for artificial intelligence software, sold directly to game developers. The news didn’t only raise anticipation for future video games but also raised the share prices exponentially for Unity’s stock. With a daily return of over 15%, investors seemed to greatly value the new tech to approach various markets outside of gaming.
Although AI has technically been integrated into video games since the early 1950s, this next step will introduce tools like machine learning and decision-making on a mass scale. With the ability to quickly generate graphics or create human-like responses from non-playable characters, AI can quickly transform immersiveness into the future generations of video games. With AI directly sold to developers through Unity’s marketplace, gaming could become faster, cheaper, and more intelligent. What can be guaranteed by these 21st century technologies are the cultivation of rapid production and finely tuned entertainment that has been turning high-quality experiences into reality.
