A Jolly Time
It’s been a tough year for all. For some, the pandemic is just an added bonus this year as day-to-day life is already a task in itself. The U.S. troops fall under that category, for example.
The Pentagon understands this and has taken the initiative to help put a smile on the face of the American troops stationed on U.S military stations worldwide. They are planning on doing this by sending out just under 51,000 pounds of roasted turkey and 7000 gallons of eggnog for the holidays.
The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Commander Army Brig. Gen. Gavin Lawrence made a compelling statement related to the matter.
“This year, despite the additional complexities that Covid-19 put in front of us, the DLA Troop Support Subsistence team went above and beyond to make sure our service men and women around the world will have a wonderful Christmas dinner,”
The sizable shipment includes 9000 whole turkeys, 51,000 pounds of roasted turkeys, 74,000 pounds of beef, 21,000 pounds of ham, 67,000 of shrimp, 16,000 of sweet potatoes, 19,000 pounds of pies and cakes and 7000 gallons of eggnog.
What a list!
