5 Facts About Mark Carney, Governor of Bank of England

Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England, is also of course a person just like you and me. Here’s 5 non-finance facts about the person in charge of one of the most powerful financial organisation in the world.

So Mark Carney is going to be the governor of the Bank of England until at least  2019. So we may as well find out a little bit more about him, right? Here are five facts about him you may not have have known.

Number one, he is Canadian and he speaks fluent French.

Number two, he is brainy and can prove it. He graduated from Harvard university and then got a PHD in Economics at Oxford university. He then joined Goldman Sachs before working at the Canadian department of finance.

Number three,  he has not one, not two, not three, but four daughters.

Number four, his favourite film is called Gallipoli and it is about World War 1.

And finally number 5, if he wasn’t the governor of the Bank of England then his dream job would be to be a goalkeeper in the NHL hockey league in Canada.

So, there you go. A snapshot of the man currently in charge of the mighty Bank of England.
