HP’s Fourth Quarter Earnings Results and Slack Shares Popped Big on Wednesday

HP shares were up over 6% in pre-market trading on Wednesday after reporting its fourth-quarter earnings results. The company reported total revenue of $15.3 billion versus $14.69 billion a year ago.
HP CEO Enrique Lores said “I think we are showing good performance across many businesses of the company. And clearly the pandemic has reinforced the businesses that we have on the consumer side and help us in that direction.”
Slack
The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that cloud-based software company Salesforce held talks to purchase fellow software company, Slack. If the deal goes through, this would mark the largest ever acquisition for Salesforce.
Following the news, Salesforce shares dropped over 5% while Slack shares rocketed as high as 32% during the day. Year to date, Slack shares are up over 85% while Salesforce shares are up over 45%.
