AMC Stock on The Move and Disney Theme Parks May Reopen
AMC Â
AMC Entertainment Holdings stock making moves within the last few days. As one of the largest cinema companies in the world, the pandemic hit AMC very hard. In fact, AMC was heavily in debt and facing increasing competition from in-house entertainment options like Netflix, Disney Plus, and HBO Max to name a few.Â
Despite this reddit investors ate up AMC as a meme and sent it soaring. Now AMC may be coming back, for example, just this week we saw investors celebrate a new made-up holiday with the hashtag #AMCDAY on social media. Clearly the main goal here is to eat up AMC’s stock and push it higher. AMC was up 1.70% yesterday.
Disney
The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney, is an American diversified multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate that has produced some of the most iconic and successful movies of all time. Disney saw Disney+, their streaming platform, succeed during the pandemic giving them a leg up. This success may continue post-pandemic.
In fact, with the strong uptick in vaccination rate in the U.S Disney theme parks may reopen and boost investor confidence. Some think this may not be enough to push the stock and that subscriber growth seen in the past year isn’t sustainable. Currently, Walt Disney Co has a median target of 218.50, with a high estimate of 230.00 and a low estimate of 147.00.
