Market Recap – April 21st
Yesterday, all major indexes fell in reaction as a jump in Treasury yields neutralized the optimism coming from another batch of solid corporate earnings. Indeed, the Dow Jones fell 0.9%, the S&P 500 fell 1.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite slid 2%. Earlier in the day each index was up, however, with strong quarterly earnings uplifting markets. Looking at two specific investments, we’re watching Tesla and Google. Google saw major news in New York, opening a new campus on New York’s Hudson River this week to attract new talent. Tesla also saw a prediction from its CEO, Elon Musk, who stated that the company’s newest humanoid robot would become a valuable part of our company.
