Twitter’s Global Outage and Remdesivir Had No Impact on Survival in Patients
No chirps or tweets for over an hour on Twitter yesterday after the social media website suffered multiple outages in many countries around the world.
The entire site went down for several minutes and left users unable to tweet or retweet for over an hour. The company said “There’s no evidence this outage was caused by a security breach or hack. We’re currently investigating internal root causes.”
The website is now back and running as usual.
Gilead Sciences
A clinical trial conducted by the World Health Organization has reportedly concluded that Gilead Sciences COVID-19 treatment didn’t reduce mortality among patients.
The antiviral, Remdesivir has already received emergency use authorization in the U.S. after clinical data revealed that it can reduce recovery times in severely ill corona-virus patients. The trial failed to prove that it reduces death in patients.
Gilead’s stock is down a total of 3.1% this year.
