Market Recap – January 12th
Yesterday, U.S markets moved a bit higher after inflation reports, and although showing historic gains, they aligned with expectations. The S&P 500 rose around 0.4%, the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.6%, and The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 104 points or 0.3%. Looking at more specific stocks, we are watching General Electric (GE), whose shares rose after the conglomerate broke up into three separate businesses. Moreover, Rivian, the EV company, found some excellent media presentations, with its shares rising around 4.3%. The rise came from Redburn, an equity research company, saying the company has the best chance to “emulate” Tesla’s success.
