Market Recap โ September 8th
The markets stayed positive on Friday after what was a mostly negative week, with fear still circling around investors. However, some gains in the morning were sacrificed as trading volume slowed, leaving the S&P 500 up 0.14%, the Dow Jones up 0.22%, and the NASDAQ up 0.09%. One of the big losers was WeWork, down 16.14% to $2.65 despite news that they are planning to renegotiate most of their leases across the globe to exit poor locations, displaying a lack of investor confidence in the business. Joining them was Restoration Hardware, down 15.63% to $310.95 as they issued a warning to investors saying that housing market woes will strain the business, which provides high-end furnishing to many luxury homes.
