Market Recap – August 5th

On Friday the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.23%, closing at 32,803.47. The best performing sectors were the Energy and Financial sectors, up 1.22% and 0.37% each. Looking at specific investments, we’ve been watching Beyond Meat and Goldman Sachs. Beyond Meat, the alternative meat producer saw its shares fall over 2% after the company lowered its revenue forecast for 2022. Moreover, the company announced they would be cutting down their workforce by 4%. Goldman Sachs also saw some bearish news, with their credit cards being investigated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau over a range of billing and payments practices.
